O.k. you win for the most horrible wedding photographer story I have heard in 2009. Unfortunatly, storries like this happen all to often.

I wish I would have gotten that advice when I was young and dumb---about 10 years ago!

We chose a photography that we both thought was really good. Then we walked into his business and that should have been the sign...turn around now. His place was so disorganized. So cluttery! Turns out, he did our engagement, but tells us he was unable to do our wedding--that he had someone that was equally good to do it for us. NOT Not great....ordinary poses.

THEN, we ordered what we wanted off of a VHS that he supplied with our images. Come to find out, they lost the film. I was so upset! He did reimberse us what money we had paid for the ordered photos (which was actually about 4 weeks earlier...) We had called when we hadn't heard anything about our photos coming back. He said they ordered them and THE PEOPLE they go through for printing lost the film. He said he called them and everything. 5 years later, he calls. "Would you still like your wedding photos? We found your film." It was in HIS business!!! They didn't send it out at all! Oh, I was VERY mad at this point. After 5 years, he was going to charge me the same price as was stated before. I asked him if he was on drugs. 5 YEARS!!! Without any wedding photos!!! Then he proceeds to tell me that the reason it was lost was that his daughter was mad at him and hid it from him that long ago. That he had cancer, was closing up shop and was cleaning out and found it. He also said he'd give me his first born if he could. BUT not my pictures! Then he brought up the, "I'm dying" issue. THat made me even more mad. I then said, "This is a business transaction, not a pity party!!!" Maybe that was harsh, but I was so upset at that point. He was such an arrogant jerk. I told him that we would pay $400 for what he had which was the film (I think) and the proofs. He said no. I asked him what was to happen to the film then. They were going to trash everything that wasn't claimed because what could they do with it? So, instead of $400 or even giving his best offer (which really wasn't best) he would get nothing. I told him to do somehing with those photos that I won't put on here, but I think back at my anger and wonder if that was the best things to do because I basically have NO photos of our wedding day.

But despite all that, they are just pictures....it was a good day, we're still married and we're best friends.

BTW, after ranting all that, I love the photo. I really like the look.
