Central Park Flowers Dinner by Design expo at the Scranton Cultural Center

So my winter break is over….. I have taken a two month or so hiatus from the blogging world to get my barrings and prepare a few things…. The new studio is just about finished in Scanton and Janet and I are 10 weeks out from being parents. Indie as we have grown accustomed to calling him is just about cooked and ready to appear. For those of you who have missed seeing weddings and engagement shoots on a weekly basis don’t be discouraged. They are about to hit the blog in full force this month. We have 20 or so weddings from 2010 to hit the blog over the next few months but for now I thought I would share a session I did yesterday in Scranton…..

I love details…..  Eloise and Dorian Butovich from Central Park Flowers in Scranton did a design spread for the Scranton Cultural Center called Dinner by Design. As people know who follow my blog I’m big fans of Dorian & Eloise they really have a feel for design elements that is rare in NEPA. If you’re planning an event you can’t go wrong with these guys they consistently blow my brains into little pieces with their work.

Sometimes I wish I had more time to spend putting up some of the more amazing wedding vendors I have worked with this past year. Some of the stuff going on in the industry right now is just pretty much a plate full of awesome. A few weeks ago I emailed
Caroline Colóm Vásquez of Paloma’s Nest and asked if I could throw some blog love her way. From a photographers perspective or at least this photographers perspective weddings are all about the little details. The more eye candy I have to get my camera lost in the better. Last year Kristy Rice from Momental Designs introduced me to her work when we all collaborated on a tablescape session and I have fallen in love with Carolin’s work ever since.

Be sure to check out her shop here and her amazing blog here.

Brides…. Get on over and check out her work. I would love to see some of these deigns in some photographs this year.

Yesterday I had the opportunity to work with some of my favorite wedding vendors in NEPA. The collaboration and creative process behind such sessions give me such a brush of fresh air in a ridiculously busy schedule. I just love sitting around and watching some of my favorite peers have at it. It such a beautiful process to watch.

When I showed up for the afternoon I was introduced to the kindest man I have met in some time. He was knee deep in work setting up the table and bringing in all the items we were including in the shoot on his tractor. I could tell he just had this spirit about him I was drown to. As the day moved on I pointed my camera at him a few times….

I couldn’t resist getting a few quick portraits of him.

Every now and again as I began taking pictures he would head out into the woods and go fetch something for us.

I just kept thinking that I wish he was my grandfather.

The Momental Designs 10 yr Wedding Renewal

Kristy Rice over at Momental Designs had a 10 year reunion this past Friday and although I was not able to shoot the event on Saturday I was asked to come and photograph the venue the day before. The following is a sneak peak at just some of the details I was brought in to capture.  Creating editorial storyboards is something I am getting accustomed to as magazines require this particular style for print. It’s also a style I really enjoy shooting for so I thought I would post a few collages I made for this particular event.

Hope everyone enjoys the vintage cream palate. I know I got lost in all the details…..

The cake was a Sylvia Weinstock and let me say I am a huge fan of her work.

Her cakes are legendary.

Happy 10 years to Kristy & Adam
