For those of you who have followed me over the years you know I didn’t start out as a wedding photographer. Most of my work was more fine art related then portrait related. For many years I pretty much refused to shoot weddings. It’s not that I didn’t like them but I didn’t think there was much room for art in the world of wedding photography. I have learned much over the years about myself and the kind of photography I like to take. I decided over the last couple of weeks that I needed to start making the art that I use to make 5 or six hears ago. It’s always been my passion but it’s hard to find time to just go out and do it anymore.
Each wednesday from now on I’m going to start posting pictures that mean something to me. Some of them nobody has ever seen before.
Today I open up this blog with a series I made entitled “Flying Lessons”
These were taken about 5 years.
I hope you enjoy this little weekly move away from portrait photography. I know I’m excited about challenging myself to make images like this again.
