Alyssa & Matt

Matt & Alyssa were married two weeks ago in Delhi NY a few hours from where I live in one of the most memorable weddings I have shot this year. First off, I love this couple…. Every time I have spent time with them I have come away feeling blessed to have known them. It is pretty obvious to all who come in contact with them that they are ridiculously in love. I remember Matt telling me about the years he spent dreaming of dating Alyssa and then finally one day the stars aligned and well the rest is history.  There are so many moments I will remember about this wedding.

It rained during the ceremony the entire time and without question Matt was insistent about being married outside.

That’s just the kind of people these two are.

I just love them and feel so honored that they invited me up to a farm outside of Delhi to be a part of their wedding.

I love grooms that can’t keep it in on their wedding day.

So much love being displayed at this wedding from everyone involved.

Love you guys,

Daniel

Erin’s Senior Session

follow DanielLanton at http://twitter.com

Last week I had the opportunity to spend some time with Erin photographing her for her senior year in high school. Here in the states we call that a “senior session” although I know many of you visit this blog from around the world have a very different idea as to what the term senior means.

Senior sessions can be whatever you make of them. Erin is going to school to be an actor so she asked for a moody feel to her pictures.

I couldn’t resist giving her just that.

For information on how to get your senior pictures with us feel free to fill out the contact form up top or email me at Dlanton@darkershadesofbrown.com

How to make a photoshop mask

follow DanielLanton at http://twitter.com

One of the most useful tools in a photographers arsenal is the ability to mask in photoshop so I thought I would give a brief description as to how we do it.

Typically it takes about 3 minutes to get one just right.

Makes for happy clients.

For information on how we can do this for you and your family feel free to give us a call and we can sit down and make sure we get you and yours in our books.

Julie Chris & Hallie: A family/E session

follow DanielLanton at http://twitter.com

I first met Chris, Julie & Hallie last year when they started planning their wedding and when we sat down and talked I realized that they really wanted Hallie included in their E session as she is an important part of their relationship. Chris used to work with my wife and when she mentioned to him that I was a photographer they headed on over to my website and noticed that I had posted a family session that included a young girl the age of Julie’s daughter.  By the time I sat down with them they had already decided that they wanted a family/E session feel to these pictures.

Normally I spend the majority of my time just working with two people on an E session and we still did spend time with just Chris & Julie but I just couldn’t resist focusing on them as a family unit as that is what they are soon to become.

Elizabeth - I love what you’re doing with the clarity here. Did you overexpose some of the top photos first?

Daniel Lanton - I slightly overexpose everything.
